VRG AND BECAMEX IDC: STRATEGIC DRIVERS OF PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT

On the morning of May 13, the Standing Committee of the Binh Duong Provincial Party held a working session with the Party Committee of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG), led by Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and General Director of VRG. The meeting was also attended by representatives of various provincial departments, agencies, Becamex IDC, and VSIP.

During the session, both parties reviewed the progress of the cooperation program signed between Binh Duong Province and VRG’s Party Committee. The report indicated that key commitments have been effectively implemented. A steering committee has been established to review and address obstacles in land-use projects involving VRG, including the Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park Expansion – Phase II, Rach Bap Industrial Park, Long Tan Industrial Cluster, Nam Tan Uyen Residential Area, and An Tay Residential Area.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized the importance of cooperation for local development.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC, shared that in the coming period, the alliance between Becamex IDC, VSIP, and VRG will focus on investing in and implementing national key projects in transport infrastructure, science and technology, and innovation. The alliance aims to contribute to national priorities, such as belt roads, metro and railway lines, science and technology parks, innovation-driven industrial zones, and data centers.

Mr. Le Thanh Hung, General Director of VRG, stated that the partnership with Becamex IDC and VSIP will leverage combined strengths in finance, technology, infrastructure, experience, and human resources to develop industrial, urban, and social housing infrastructure.

In addition, the alliance plans to collaborate on large-scale energy production and supply projects, including solar farms, wind power, gas power, and other clean energy sources. This will help ensure energy stability in the province and contribute to Vietnam’s Net Zero carbon emissions goal by 2050.

At the session, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Finance, also reported on the coordination results between Binh Duong Province and VRG.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party highly appreciated the outcomes of past collaboration and the strategic development directions ahead. It emphasized that the partnership between Becamex IDC and VRG should play a key, pioneering role in aligning with the province’s development goals.

The Committee further noted that all cooperation and development efforts must be based on both VRG’s and the province’s approved planning for the 2025–2030 period, with a long-term vision to 2050. Environmental protection must remain a top priority. VRG and Becamex IDC were also tasked with working closely on the planning of 3,000 hectares to relocate southern industrial zones to the north and develop the 1,500-hectare Lai Hung Integrated Complex.
