CONFERENCE ON PROMOTING VIETNAM-INDIA TRADE AND INVESTMENT 2023
On the afternoon of May 23, 2023, the Conference on Promoting Vietnam-India Trade and Investment 2023 took place at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). This conference was attended by representatives from departments in Binh Duong province, Vietnamese businesses, and especially Indian businesses from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry operating in diverse sectors, including shipping and logistics, manufacturing food and beverage, renewable energy, IT, healthcare, textile and garment, etc.
India has now become one of Vietnam’s leading trade partners. In 2022, the total trade value between Vietnam and India reached $15.05 billion USD, up 13.6% compared to 2021, resulting in a remarkable change in trade relations with Indian counterparts in the future. Up to now, India ranks 23rd out of 65 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong, with 10 projects and a total investment capital of more than 116 million USD. The main fields of investment are medical instruments, the processing industry, manufacturing, agricultural and food products, etc.
During the conference, Indian business leaders expressed their positive assessment of Binh Duong’s investment environment and emphasized the abundant opportunities for cooperation to propel both regions towards new heights of development. Representatives from various industry associations and businesses in Binh Duong province took the stage at the conference, providing a concise overview of their strengths, future development strategies, and expressing their desire to establish trade connections with India, a vast market with over 1 billion people.
As part of their fact-finding mission, Indian business leaders recently embarked on visits to prominent locations in Binh Duong, including the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park I, and Intelligent Operation Center at WTC Tower.
