BINH DUONG NEW CITY TO HOST CENTRALISED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PARK
Binh Duong is moving forward with the development of a Centralised Information Technology (IT) Park, set to be located within the Binh Duong Industrial – Service – Urban Complex, also known as Binh Duong New City. The project, spanning more than 15 hectares in Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, received official approval from Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, who signed the decision establishing the park.
According to a statement from the provincial e-Portal on May 10, the Binh Duong People’s Committee has been tasked with leading the initiative in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies. The committee will oversee investment mobilization, infrastructure construction, and long-term operation of the park in accordance with national regulations.
The creation of this IT park marks a pivotal milestone in Binh Duong’s broader strategy to become a smart city and a modern hub for industry and services. It underscores the province’s commitment to science, technology, and innovation as foundational pillars for sustainable development and global competitiveness.
Designed as a magnet for investment in advanced sectors—including information technology, biotechnology, new materials, and environmental technologies—the park reflects Binh Duong’s ongoing transition from traditional manufacturing to high-tech production and research. Its integration into the province’s urban-industrial complex is seen as both a strategic and timely move in response to global innovation trends.
This development also builds on Binh Duong’s earlier announcement in October 2024 of a 220-hectare high-tech industrial park aimed at attracting investment in cutting-edge industries such as semiconductors and smart manufacturing. In parallel, the province has accelerated the completion of key transportation infrastructure to enhance connectivity with international airports and deep-sea ports, thereby facilitating global trade and strengthening its logistics capabilities.
As of March 2025, Binh Duong continued to rank among Vietnam’s top localities for foreign direct investment (FDI), placing second nationwide after Ho Chi Minh City. The province currently hosts 4,399 active FDI projects with a total registered capital exceeding USD 42.4 billion—equivalent to approximately 8.5% of the country’s total FDI.
With a long-term vision to become a leading center for innovation and advanced industry by 2050, Binh Duong is steadily building a comprehensive digital ecosystem to boost competitiveness, attract high-value investments, and improve the quality of life for its business community and residents alike.
