BINH DUONG ASPIRES TO BECOME AN AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY HUB

In its ongoing effort to maintain its status as one of Vietnam’s top FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) attractors, Binh Duong province continuously facilitates networking and capacity building for enterprises in automation.

Speaking at the ” Automation & Energy: The Driver For Smart Manufacturing” on the afternoon of June 20, Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Binh Duong Department of Industry and Trade, highlighted the province’s continued success in attracting FDI. From the beginning of the year to May 15, 2024, Binh Duong has secured over USD 341 million in FDI with 74 new projects receiving investment certificates. Cumulatively, Binh Duong has attracted nearly 4,300 projects with a total investment of nearly USD 40.6 billion from 65 countries and territories, ranking third in the country after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

To sustain its growth, Binh Duong prioritizes advancing automation in industrial production. This not only boosts labor productivity but also reduces production costs, fostering a conducive environment for business development.

“Many enterprises in Binh Duong have been pioneers in applying modern automation technologies such as industrial robots, automatic control systems, and smart production lines. This enhances their competitiveness both domestically and internationally while contributing to Binh Duong’s evolution into a hub of advanced technology and modern manufacturing,” stated Mr. Thi.

Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, CEO of the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC Binh Duong ),for short a prominent enterprise in the industrial real estate sector, discussed the ongoing transformation of traditional industrial parks into green and smart industrial zones.

According to Ms. Linh, this strategy aligns with the Vietnamese government’s future direction, compelling enterprises to be proactive. WTC has been collaborating with numerous entities to implement this strategy not only in Binh Duong but also across the numerous industrial parks it operates nationwide.

“There is a well-founded expectation that Binh Duong will emerge as a new global trade hub, connecting not just the key southern provinces but the entire world. These international trade and connection activities will help bring advanced automation technologies to Vietnam, accelerating the realization of this expectation,” Ms. Linh added.

To support enterprises in enhancing automation and efficient energy management for smart production, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented various supportive policies. These include favorable conditions for funding, infrastructure, human resource training, and trade connections. Special emphasis is placed on specialized trade fairs and exhibitions to facilitate easy access to and adoption of the latest technologies. Additionally, Binh Duong is bolstering cooperation programs with domestic and international partners to share experiences, transfer technology, and expand markets.
