BIFA WOOD VIETNAM 2024 IS OFFICIALLY KICKED OFF
This morning, August 8, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Bifa Wood Vietnam 2024 was held at the WTC Expo. In attendance were representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, provincial department and sector leaders, as well as wood processing enterprises from Binh Duong and various other provinces and cities across the country. The fair is organized by theViet Nam Forestry Fair Joint Stock Company in collaboration with the Binh Duong Furniture Association.
Bifa Wood Vietnam 2024 will run from today until August 11, 2024, showcasing and introducing advanced and modern wood processing equipment and environmentally friendly wood and wood materials. The fair spans a space of 12,000 square meters, featuring nearly 800 booths, and attracting participation from over 100 domestic and international enterprises. It is expected to welcome more than 6,000 visitors from around the world and Vietnam.
In the opening remarks, Mr. Tran Quang Bao, Director of the Forestry Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, noted that in the first seven months of 2024, the export value of wood and forestry products reached USD 9.36 billion, achieving 61.5% of the annual target and reflecting a 20.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This is a positive indicator of the recovery and growth in Vietnam’s wood processing and forestry export industry
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, highlighted that Bifa Wood Vietnam, held annually, is crucial for helping wood industry companies overcome challenges, improve quality, diversify products, and expand into new and traditional export markets. The fair gathers leading domestic and international enterprises to showcase advanced technologies and digital innovations, fostering business cooperation and creating a strong supply chain within the industry.
With the active and proactive participation of ministries, sectors, localities, and wood industry enterprises, both domestic and international, the exhibition will be an effective trade promotion channel. It will help wood industry businesses expand their markets, actively participate in the global production chain, and contribute to achieving the wood industry’s export target of over USD 15 billion in 2024.
Alongside the fair, a series of thematic workshops will be held throughout the event. This will serve as an effective trade promotion channel, fostering numerous connections, exchanges, and collaborations in the innovation of technology, machinery, equipment, materials, and accessories in the wood processing industry. These efforts will contribute to the sustainable and efficient development of Vietnam’s wood production and export industry.
