OPENING OF THE SUPPORTING INDUSTRIES EXHIBITION – FORUM AND THE 2025 SUPPLY CHAIN SUPPLY–DEMAND MATCHING CONFERENCE

On the morning of December 4, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition – Forum on Supporting Industries and the 2025 Supply Chain Demand-Supply Connection Conference officially took place in Binh Duong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industries Association (HASI), in coordination with state management agencies and relevant specialized associations. The program clearly demonstrates efforts to strengthen linkages between the business community, management agencies, and professional organizations to promote the development of Vietnam’s supporting industries ecosystem in a sustainable and integrated direction.

With the theme “Self-Reliance – Self-Strength – Honoring Vietnamese Enterprises,” the event gathered a large number of domestic and international enterprises to share solutions, technologies, and development orientations aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the supporting industries sector. This is also an important opportunity to expand cooperation, strengthen connections, and enable Vietnamese businesses to participate more deeply in the global supply chain.

Within the framework of the exhibition, numerous seminar sessions and professional discussions were organized with the participation of leading experts and enterprises in the supporting industries field. The content focused on assisting Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises in improving management capacity, meeting the increasingly stringent requirements from international investors, and seeking opportunities to participate in regional and global supply chains.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Forum “Promoting the Development of Vietnamese Supporting Industries in the Global Supply Chain,” jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), the Vietnam Supporting Industries Association (VASI), HASI, and the Institute for Policy Administration and Development Strategy (IPADS), continued to affirm the interest and determination of stakeholders in enhancing the scale, quality, and competitiveness of Vietnamese supporting industry products.

In her opening speech at the forum, Ms. Cao Thi Phi Van, Deputy Director of ITPC, stated that the Vietnamese economy had reached a historic milestone with total import-export turnover exceeding $801 billion as of November 15, including exports of $410.28 billion and imports of $390.74 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $19.54 billion. However, the import structure still indicates a high demand for components and semi-finished products, notably the computer, electronics, and components group reaching $6.62 billion, and the machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts group reaching $2.59 billion, highlighting the vast development potential of the supporting industries sector.

Also at the forum, Ms. Truong Thi Chi Binh, Vice President and General Secretary of VASI, reported that the network of Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises currently has over 420 members, with revenue exceeding $4.58 billion in 2024, primarily concentrated in major economic centers such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises are currently supplying key industries, including automobiles, motorcycles, electronics, semiconductors, renewable energy, medical equipment, and aerospace, while also noting positive signals in expanding exports to demanding markets such as North America and Japan.

At the forum, participants focused discussions on many key issues such as logistics costs, quality control, technology investment, digital transformation, and technical human resource development, while sharing experiences and proposing solutions to promote the sustainable and effective development of Vietnam’s supporting industries in the context of deep integration.
