STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN WTC BINH DUONG NEW CITY AND BASI: TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUPPORTING INDUSTRY

On the afternoon of June 19, the 1st Congress of the Binh Duong Supporting Industry Business Association (BASI), term 2025–2028, was held at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center.

The Congress emphasized the urgent need to establish BASI in the context of a rapidly evolving global economy, marked by shifting supply chains, trade conflicts, and the pressing demand for domestic production autonomy. As the “backbone” of modern industrial development, the supporting industry is playing an increasingly pivotal role.

During the Congress, delegates elected 33 members to the Executive Committee for the 2025–2028 term and appointed 6 members to the Advisory Board—seasoned experts and senior executives with deep industry experience. Mr. Vo Son Dien, Executive Marketing Director of Becamex IDC Corporation, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, and former Chairman of the Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association (terms IV and V), was elected as the first President of BASI.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BASI and the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC). This partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to promote sustainable development, serve shared interests, and drive socio-economic growth in the region.

The cooperation will be implemented based on alignment with each party’s policies and capacities, ensuring mutual benefits, long-term collaboration, and tangible outcomes. Key areas of cooperation include: jointly developing and executing programs to promote investment and trade; organizing conferences, exhibitions, and specialized training courses to advance the supporting industry; fostering domestic and international business connections; sharing information and collaborating on high-potential projects. Where appropriate, both sides will also support each other in organizing or participating in trade promotion and industry-specific events both in Vietnam and abroad.

This milestone not only marks the beginning of a new chapter for the supporting industry in Binh Duong but also reflects a strong commitment to fostering linkages among organizations, businesses, and authorities in the effort to enhance competitiveness and achieve sustainable economic growth.
