BINH DUONG DELEGATION EXPLORES INVESTMENT AND SEMICONDUCTOR OPPORTUNITIES IN GERMANY
On November 18-19, a delegation from Binh Duong Province, led by Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong, visited Germany to strengthen cooperation and explore investment opportunities. The mission focused on high-tech industrial parks, semiconductor industries, and fostering partnerships.
The delegation included Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Becamex IDC; and representatives from provincial departments.
This visit by the Binh Duong delegation aims to further explore science and technology, high-tech advancements, semiconductors, and chip production, contributing to the development of Binh Duong in its new growth phase following the Prime Minister’s approval of the provincial master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
Visit to Chemnitz City
On November 18, the delegation met with Mr. Ralph Burghart, Vice Mayor of Chemnitz. Chemnitz, Germany’s third-largest city in the east, is a hub for industries such as automotive, IT, mechanical engineering, and automation. It also specializes in fields like caregiving, hospitality, and materials technology. Both parties expressed interest in enhancing collaboration, particularly in these key sectors.
Chemnitz is home to the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute. Leaders from both sides discussed potential partnerships between the institute and Becamex IDC Corporation to drive technological innovation.
Engagement with Saxony Parliament
On November 19, the delegation visited the Saxony State Parliament, where Mr. Nguyen Van Loi introduced Binh Duong’s economic achievements. Known as one of Vietnam’s leading industrial hubs, Binh Duong has attracted over 4,400 FDI enterprises from 65 countries and approximately 70,000 domestic businesses.
Saxony, often referred to as Germany’s “Silicon Valley,” hosts nearly 100 semiconductor companies, over 400 service and component suppliers, and employs more than 20,000 workers in the field. The delegation engaged with Silicon Saxony, one of the largest high-tech networks in the region, to learn about advancements in semiconductors, software, and smart systems.
Visit to Fraunhofer ENAS
The delegation also visited the Fraunhofer ENAS Institute, led by Professor Harald Kuhn. The institute specializes in nanoelectronic systems, intelligent sensors, and advanced integration technologies. It supports businesses with comprehensive solutions, from conceptual development to prototyping, focusing on AI-driven data analysis, system security, and innovative CMOS technologies.
This mission reflects Binh Duong’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and adopting advanced technologies for sustainable growth in its industrial sector.
