THE STRONG APPEAL OF A TRADE HUB FOR GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN CONNECTIONS IN BINH DUONG
Supporting sustainable growth in Binh Duong, Becamex IDC has invested in the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC), now positioning the province as a new trade destination in Vietnam’s southern economic region. As a member of the WTCA, WTC BDNC connects Vietnamese businesses to global markets and high-quality supply chains.
Opening the Gateway to the Global Energy Production Market
In September 2024, as part of the series of events announcing Binh Duong’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, WTC BDNC hosted two exhibitions: “Electric Energy Show 2024,” organized by the KOEM, KEPCO and COEX; and “Automation World Vietnam 2024” organized by COEX, KOSMO and Becamex IDC.
The “Electric Energy Show 2024” exhibition introduced sustainable energy solutions and efficient energy management and distribution. Meanwhile, “Automation World Vietnam 2024” focused on smart automation solutions, optimizing production processes and management, thereby improving efficiency and reducing operational costs for businesses.
With the goal of showcasing advanced solutions and technology in the fields of electricity, energy, and automation, these exhibitions attracted 300 organizations, featuring over 400 booths from 1,000 companies from countries and regions such as Korea, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
The exhibitions featured prominent companies like Samsung, Yamaha, LS Electric, and Panasonic, as well as Becamex IDC, KTG Industrial Park, and VSIP. Particularly notable was a visit from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and government officials, who explored new products and technologies presented by major domestic and international companies.
Mr. Lee Dong Ki, Chairman of COEX, remarked that production automation and energy efficiency improvements through renewable energy technology would significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions in industries. Vietnam is also focusing on digital transformation in manufacturing, driven by technology, while pursuing a shift to green and low-carbon energy in the energy sector. Under this context, the exhibition creates new opportunities for Korean and Vietnamese companies to jointly grow and play pivotal roles in the global manufacturing and energy markets.
Building an Ecosystem to Propel Businesses Forward
According to the People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province, the investment in WTC BDNC provides practical trade promotion support for both domestic and foreign investors, fostering MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) business development, attracting conferences, workshops, and exhibitions to Binh Duong.
As a multifunctional complex with an area of 250,000 m² and a member of the WTCA, WTC BDNC has, in a short time, organized hundreds of trade delegations from countries and regions, facilitating trade promotion and drawing in both domestic and international exhibitions. This has led to connections with over 100 businesses in the southern key economic region, positioning Binh Duong as a new trade destination.
WTC BDNC’s operations enabled Binh Duong to partner with the WTCA General Assembly and Becamex IDC Corporation to successfully organize the WTCA Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting (WTCA APRM 2023) in August 2023. During the forum, the World Trade Centers of Mumbai, Shenyang, and WTC BDNC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen economic and trade relations.
These agreements encourage and promote trade, investment, technology transfer, joint ventures, and partnerships based on equality and mutual benefit. Cooperation also includes information exchange to promote international trade and investment, joint ventures, business exchanges, and support for participation in fairs, exhibitions, and trade promotions.
At the recent announcement of Binh Duong’s master plan, Becamex IDC Corporation and COEX also signed a cooperation agreement to promote industrial trade and investment in Binh Duong.
Mr. Giang Quoc Dung, Deputy General Director of Becamex IDC and Chairman of WTC Binh Duong, emphasized that through the Smart City strategy, Binh Duong has become a hub for trade and collaboration, attracting both local and international companies. WTC BDNC connects with WTCA centers across Asia-Pacific to create business opportunities.
Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of Binh Duong People’s Committee, noted that WTC BDNC plays a vital role in the service ecosystem and Smart City strategy, making Binh Duong a key destination for trade and global tech events. Through its global network, WTC BDNC also helps Vietnamese businesses in innovation and tech connect with international supply chains.
