On December 6, during the official visit to Japan by Mr. Tran Thanh Man, National Assembly of Vietnam, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee, visited Yamaguchi Prefecture to strengthen international cooperation.

During the visit, Mr. Vo Van Minh met with Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture- Mr. Tsugumasa Muraoka. The two leaders discussed key initiatives, including:

  • Plans to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the friendship cooperation agreement between Binh Duong and Yamaguchi.
  • Renewal of the memorandum of understanding, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening economic and social ties.

Over the past decade, Binh Duong and Yamaguchi have successfully expanded their collaboration in various sectors:

  • Trade and investment promotion.
  • Student exchange programs.
  • Healthcare and agricultural cooperation.

In a separate meeting with Mr. Yanai Shungaku, Chairman of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly, both leaders highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration. They acknowledged that mutual visits and shared experiences have significantly strengthened legislative activities and governance in both regions.

The 10th anniversary celebration of the Binh Duong-Yamaguchi partnership is set for December 18, 2024 at the Binh Duong Convention & Exhibition Center. This event will serve as a milestone to review achievements and outline future initiatives for bilateral cooperation.

Earlier, on December 4, in Tokyo, Mr. Vo Van Minh met with Mr. Suzuki Keisuke, Japan’s Minister of Justice, and Mr. Sasaki Hajime, a prominent Japanese politician. These discussions aimed to explore broader opportunities for cooperation across governance and policy development.

These high-level engagements between Binh Duong, Yamaguchi, and Japan’s Ministry of Justice mark a critical step in advancing bilateral relations. As the 10th anniversary of the Binh Duong-Yamaguchi partnership approaches, both sides are committed to fostering diverse collaborations that contribute to shared prosperity and development.

The efforts not only tighten the bond between the two localities but also contribute to enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan, paving the way for greater economic and cultural ties.
